Security & Stabilization

Providing hope and a sense of normalcy to communities in post-conflict settings is vital to economic and political development.  Local communities and authorities need support to restore essential services, restart local economies, and maintain basic security.  Foundational to preventing the resurgence of violent conflict is advancing local ownership and developing powerful networks of actors and institutions across sectors to address problems. The senior leadership of the Georgetown Strategy Group has been at the forefront of stabilization policy and operations for more than 15 years leading efforts, most recently, in Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.
